I just finished reading GW's (that's George Washington's) farewell address after two terms as president. It's a great read...you'll find it on the link below...I recommend it. Let me know if you want to discuss. Huh...amazing people those founding guys...we could use them today.
Flea is turning out to be quite the founding father information gatherer. She sent me this link that includes writings from the founding fathers (Constitution, Declaration of Independence, Federalist Papers, Etc) and some of the philosphers that influenced them (Locke)

Buck sent me this link yesterday. Blade Runner is still one of my movie favorites.

I put up some pictures from Debbies birthday party. Check them out in the events section.
In this month's edition of the Southern California version of Sunset Magazine there is a very flattering article about Monrovia. Unfortunately their lame website only shows the title of the article so I can't link up to the exact article...grrrr... >:)

The hockey stats are updated. Check out the weekends carnage and goons (he said sheepishly).
I added a politics section that has the web sites and e-mail address of our representatives in federal, state and city politics. I couldn't find some of them so if you have them let me know...

After a conversation with Dirk, I ran across these solar links. I'm still in the educating myself mode. Anyone have any ideas on where I can find information on government subsidies/grants/etc... for putting up solar arrays on your roof? The cost look to be in the $20,000 range which is still too much for me, but with some grants I might take the plunge... http://www.solarpv.com/self_study.html http://www.solaraccess.com/salearnonline/default.asp Achieving Energy Independence - One Step... http://www.bpsolarex.com/4th-Commercial-Downloads.html
Alex Zucco is officially running for City Council in Monrovia. You can find her Campaign web site here.

I've decided I don't tell people to sod off enough. My new years resolution is to use the phrase "sod off" more...
This from Jimito. This is a good place to find that special AIM icon. Actually been looking for a good place (half-heartedly) for a while.
Buck sent this my way. An article about powered exoskeletens being developed by the military. Man, Felix is just around the corner.
Saw this on the Ars site. It is an article about slowing light to a "stop". Well not really but it's cool technology that might be used in quantum computers eventually. You need access to NYT articles to read.
A while back I read a book called the The Sexual State of the Union" by Susie Bright. It was a fun read. I was tickled to run across her website today. I only went to the front page, but look forward to exploring it on my own time. (HINT: don't follow this link at work. Her main topic is sex. The IS people might not understand you're just comfortable with your sexuality. :-) )
Hey! Who else saw the MIR last night? The view itself was kind of anti-climatic, but still seeing an object in space that houses human beings gave some hope that we will get off this rock someday. (Hopefully during my lifetime).

Another interesting solar link. American Solar Energy Society. Check it out...
This from Flea...Green Mountain Solar. They specialize in creating electricity with renewable resources. You can buy your electricity from them...Tx Flea
This link is a little old now, but with Edison on the verge of declaring bankruptcy, it might be time to start discussing alternatives. This particular one is a device that combines fuel cell technology with solar. If I could get them for a resonable cost I'd give them a try. If you run across any good home solar links let me know...

Joe sent me this link today. He saw the MIR space station last night from his house. Said it looked bigger than a 747! DANG DANG DANG! I missed it, but it'll be back on the 17th. I'll be outside somewhere at 5:38...

I ran across this hockey article this morning on MSNBC. I actually laughed out loud at the first page. (The second page is the morality page, hockey is violent, yada yada yada) Any way here it is.

I put one of the 2 or 3 pictures we have of Connor up today as well as a poem created by a friend after Connor died. You'll find them in the Connor section. Let us know what you think.
I created a couple of cool graphics for the hockey page. Check them out...

i updated our site to include some pictures of the new house. if you weren't one of the army of friends and family that we are eternally grateful to that helped out and are curious to see some shots...take a look at the "new dwelling" portion of the site
Found this link this morning. It is some of the worlds most famous historical pictures re-created in a sims like format. Kind of creepy but definitely worth a look. I found them disturbing in their simplicity.
